Constructed with repurposed cotton rope! A side note about the ropes: The main rope and hand rope are made from fabric scraps from the fashion industry. The various hues maintain their original discarded colors and are broken down into cotton fibers and spun to create the cotton twine. This method reduces water usage by 50% and significantly decreases CO2 emissions. They still retain the original colors of the clothing! This broom has a classic Appalachian style weave, making it perfect for everyday sweeping needs. Handcrafted from broom corn, a type of Sorghum, and a cotton rope using traditional methods and a non-electrical process. The turkey wing is ideal for both the hearth and floor. These timeless brooms with a groovy twist are an ideal, one-of-a-kind gift!

About Sunhouse Craft
Sunhouse Craft was started by artist / maker Cynthia Main as a place to combine her foundation in woodworking and traditional craft with a strong desire to find sustainable and harmonious ways of working. A passionate lover of nature, she devotes much of her work in the business to helping create a more verdant and connected future through sourcing and providing meaningful work. She has been making brooms since 2013, and working as a maker / builder / artist / gardener and farmer for more than two decades in her studio in Berea, Kentucky.

Yes! We offer in-store as well as curbside pick up at our studio in the Columbia-Tusculum neighborhood of Cincinnati on Th-Sat between 11am-4pm.

If the recipient is not home at the time of delivery, we'll do our best to find a safe spot to place it, out of direct sunlight and any precipitation. If we determine that quality of the flowers could be affected, due to weather like extreme heat or snow, or other circumstances, we will not leave the order and will notify the sender and recipient where it is located.
