If you have ever been to a flower class or stopped by my place, you will see a wide variety of beautiful floral resources on display. I may tend to be a bit bias, but there is something so elegant, yet calming about a beautifully photographed flower arrangement. I have compiled a list of some of my favorite flower design books for you in hopes that you find inspiration to brighten those long days spent at home. Whether you want to start flowering on your own, or just have a gorgeous coffee table book - there is something for every botanical lover in the list below.

Erin’s book, Cut Flower Garden is probably one of the most beautiful gardening books ever written and photographed. It serves as a guide to growing, harvesting and arranging flowers with tools to create a stunning at home flower garden. Gorgeous photography paired with seasonal arrangements as well as step by step arranging how-to’s.

As the book states, “A singular, personal celebration of the beauty and possibilities of nature. On Flowers is more of a memoir than a how-to guide. Amy shares her beginnings, travels and successes as one of the world’s top floral designers. All written in a poetic, nostalgic viewpoint serving as a reminder of the magic flowers represent and the feelings they evoke.

These books offer great how-to guides on creating flower arrangements for indoor spaces. There are over 100 recipes with specific plant and flower types and extremely detailed instructions. Essentially, these two books are your bible for flowering. I highly recommend these books to enhance your skills in plant and floral design.

In Full Flower, Inspired Designs by Flora’s New Creatives with photography by Gemma and Andrew Ingalls

InFullFlower.png

In Full Flower is a book full of some of the most beautiful photos of florals I have ever seen with legitimately breathtaking imagery. The arrangements aren’t fussy or complicated, but free and wild with ties to the natural spaces the designers are creating in. Simplicity meets luxury that anyone can appreciate and find wanderlust in. Ugh. Pinch me.

Art Forms in the Plant World by Karl Blossfeldt

Written in 1986, the famous Karl Blossfeldt’s Art Forms in the Plant World features 120 full-page black and white photos of textural, detailed plants in nature. The clarity of each photo shows complexities that often are overlooked, “his images imply that man's art mirrors nature and suggest that nature, in its continuous reproduction and adaptation, also creates its own art.”
